$617M El Paso VA Hospital construction underway

VA Building $617M El Paso Care Facility

It will take a few years, but the 54,000 veterans living in or near El Paso will soon have their own health center. A new 492,000 square foot ambulatory care facility will be situated on the William Beaumont Army Medical Centre campus.

Initially announced in January 2024, the Fort Worth District of the Army Corps of Engineers contracted Clark Construction Group to develop the plans and build the new $617 million healthcare center on Fort Bliss. The project will be a design-build project with one contractor completing the design and then construction of the facility.

Besides Clark Construction, the team will include the SmithGroup + HKS Joint Venture for design. Other contractors will include MMC Contractors, Bergelectric, Gate Precast and SteelFab.

With the team ready to begin the building process, the engineering and construction team will work to get the healthcare center opens on time, scheduled for 2028.
