Micro-Hospital to Open in Jacksonville
It’s nowhere near the size of a standard community hospital. Nutex Health is moving forward on a 28,000-square-foot hospital with many attributes of a larger hospital. The facility will provide services that include eight inpatient beds, eight treatment rooms, one full operating suite, two pre/post-operative recovery rooms, a fully equipped emergency department, and a range of imaging modalities such as MRI, CT Scan, and X-ray. The location will also offer behavioral services, including drug and alcohol detox services.
The company expects to spend $21 million on the project. Groundbreaking is slated for this summer, and completion is expected in Q3 2025.
The hospital will be situated at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Kernan Boulevard South in Jacksonville.
NutexHealth’s hospital division owns and operates 20 facilities in eight states. In Florida, it will open ER & Hospital facilities in Gainesville, Jacksonville, Miami and Odessa.
