Law firm Raymond James has completed the relocation of a majority of its Chicago-based associates to its new West Loop office.

The 58,196-square-foot lease spans nearly two floors at 120 South Riverside Plaza and accommodates financial advisors and associates. In August 2023, Ivanhoé Cambridge, alongside Hines, announced that Raymond James had signed the lease for the expansive space that combines multiple teams previously located at 550 W. Washington Blvd. and 222 S. Riverside Plaza.

With the opening of this multidisciplinary office, we wholeheartedly reaffirm our dedication to expanding our footprint in both Chicago and across the Midwest,” said Chris Fils, Chicagoland complex manager for Raymond James & Associates.

The recently renovated office includes a media room, a client conferencing center with white glove concierge service, and a dozen associate meeting spaces with video conferencing technology and state-of-the-art features.

Mintel, a global market intelligence agency, has relocated from a 26,000-square-foot office at 333 W. Wacker Drive in the West Loop to 203 N. LaSalle. Transwestern Real Estate Services represented building ownership on the new 30,000-square-foot lease in the 27-story, 624,724-square-foot office building in Chicago’s Central Loop submarket.

The building owner, Sumitomo Corporation of Americas, was represented by Senior Vice President Kathleen Bertrand, Executive Vice President Eric Myers and Senior Associate John Nelson of Transwestern, which leases and manages the building. Michelle Wiedman of Wiedman Real Estate represented Mintel.

Marquette Companies has completed The Thompson at Fulton Market, a 210-unit mixed-use apartment building at 150 N. Ashland Avenue, on the former Mary Thompson Hospital site in Chicago’s Fulton Market neighborhood.

Named for Dr. Mary Thompson, Chicago’s first female doctor and the first woman known to have performed major surgery, The Thompson is comprised of a new, 12-story glass and concrete building. This structure is integrated directly with an original five-story brick building that was constructed in the 1920s as part of the hospital and is located on the south side of the property.

The Thompson offers studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments as well as 32 affordable units. It’s the firm’s fifth development in the neighborhood and the property includes 2,400 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

ParkFowler Plus designed the property’s facade and Power Construction served as the general contractor. Chicago-based artist Lefty Out There (aka Francesco Campanella) created several murals for the building.
