Inland Real Estate Investment Corporation and Devon Self Storage have completed the construction of a 59,837-square-foot Class-A self-storage facility located in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Located at 2155 East Columbus Avenue near a major downtown thoroughfare and the I-91 overpass along the Connecticut River, the property previously served as a historic factory building. The redeveloped facility is comprised of three interconnected buildings encompassing 601 climate-controlled self-storage units, drive-thru unit capability and a 24-hour security system.

Inland Investments’ current self-storage portfolio spans more than $1.7 billion in assets under management. Devon currently manages 188 properties with a footprint in 32 states across the country.

A partnership of Chicago-based Remedy Medical Properties and Kayne Anderson Real Estate has completed the UCHealth Green Valley Ranch Medical Center in the northeast Denver neighborhood of Gateway-Green Valley Ranch, a master-planned community just minutes from Denver International Airport.

Located at 5589 N. Argonne St., the new one-story, 12,170-square-foot medical office building will house urgent care, primary care, imaging and physical therapy. In addition to Remedy, the other project members were Davis Partnership Architects, civil engineer Kimley-Horn and general contractor Howell Construction.

“As UCHealth neared lease expiration on their older facility in the submarket, the health system turned to Remedy to secure a new location for its urgent care and outpatient services that would better position them to cater to this diverse and growing community,” said Jim Moylan, executive vice president and managing director of design and construction with Remedy.

Olshan Properties and O’Connor Capital Partners, in collaboration with New York City’s Housing Development Corporation and Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), held the official opening of Parkchester Gardens, a 221-unit senior affordable housing development located at 1701 Purdy Str. in the Bronx’s Parkchester neighborhood. The first residents began moving into the building in late 2023, and additional move-ins will continue through 2024.

Residents will benefit from a Project-Based Section 8 contract, provided by HPD, that subsidizes their housing costs. In addition, 67 of the 221 residential units will house formerly displaced seniors.

A $120 million project designed to house long-term guests from The Shepherd Center has finished construction. The 16-story residential tower overlooking Peachtree Road more than doubles its housing capacity.

The Shepherd Center, one of the nation’s top spinal cord and brain injury rehabilitation hospitals, says more than half of its patients come from outside Georgia. Previously, the hospital could only provide housing for families for 30 days. The average stay is nearly twice that.

The Arthur M. Blank Family Residences, which has 165 apartments, will welcome its first guests in October. It’s named after Blank, the Home Depot co-founder, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Atlanta United owner, who donated $50 million to the project.

The building has 100 one-bedroom and 65 two-bedroom apartments. Its amenities include a communal kitchen, meeting rooms, library and recreation room. An outdoor garden features a relic of the property’s past: the bison statue from the former Ted’s Montana Grill.

The Shepherd Center expects to open another building next year.

Crescent and Nuveen jointly purchased the 20-story One Independence highrise in Charlotte in 2019 for $132 million. Since then, they’ve spent $30 million on renovations to the retail and restaurant offerings. Most of the improvements were aimed at the needs of tenants. In collaboration with architecture and design firm Gensler, retail space was repositioned, with Crescent leasing 23,000 square feet of restaurant and food and beverage space.

At the heart of those offerings is Monarch Market, an $18 million food hall that opened in November. The more than 18,000-square-foot space includes nine food vendors, such as Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, Kabab2Go, Rolled AF, Curry Gate and the recently opened Just Chicken. There’s also a full-service restaurant, Sushi Art and three unique cocktail offerings: Aster Cocktail Room, Lanai Terrace Bar and the Monarch Bar.
