Multifamily developer Northwood Ravin has something for everyone just outside Charlotte. The Lodges at Fort Mill, a 261-unit rental community off Fort Mill Highway, just east of Indian Land includes 118 apartments, 80 townhomes and 63 single-family homes.

The community includes a mix of two—and three-bedroom homes and townhomes, as well as walkup corner apartments with one—and two-bedroom floor plans.

Northwood Ravin paid $8.5 million in 2021 for the project site.

The Charlotte Business Journal reports that Northwood Ravin came in at No. 2 on the list ranking the market’s most active commercial real estate developers based on five-year activity. The developer delivered just over 4 million square feet of projects locally, and around 90% of that square footage was multifamily development.

Sellers of a 65-acre site on the Cumberland River set the price at $200 million. Ewing Properties, the property owner, has hired Stream Realty to market the property.

The parcel, called “The Riverside,” was once slated for 5 million square feet of residential, office and retail space. Ewing paid $7.6 million for the property and assembled the 65 acres starting in 2015.

The Nashville Business Journal reports the price is comparable to the number Carl Icahn is seeking for his East Bank scrapyard property, located just a few miles down the river. Oracle Corp. paid $253.7 million for more than 65 acres of East Bank land across the river from Germantown for its future campus in 2021, and Southwest Value Partners paid $125 million for the 15-acre former Lifeway Christian Resources campus in 2015.

Construction on Airabella Lake Oconee, a 137-acre mixed-use project east of Atlanta, is set to begin this summer. Choice Gateway is developing the project. The developers hope to complete all aspects of the project by 2026.

Plans call for a boutique Marriott hotel, restaurants, a brewery, office space and a retail section called Village at Airabella. Stand-alone homes and townhomes will also be included. Additional features will include greenspaces, a wedding venue, and a new nine-hole golf course.

The lodging component, Hotel Airabella, will feature a spa and amenities described as premium.
