Atlanta’s Le Meridien Changes Hands
Whitestone Companies acquired the 275-room Le Méridien Atlanta Perimeter in partnership with Shaner Hotels. Starwood Capital Group was the seller. The 12-story, 224,684-square-foot hotel is adjacent to Perimeter Mall and near the corporate offices of State Farm and Mercedes-Benz, as well as the headquarters of UPS and Cox Communications. Nearby attractions include the Spruill Gallery, Georgia Aquarium and Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
“Atlanta is a market we have been eyeing for quite some time,” Whitestone’s Jay Batra said. “As with most things, it is about timing. With the Le Méridien, we believe we have found an incredible asset in a great location with considerable upside potential.”
The hotel, which touts its oversized rooms (412 square feet), also provides a fitness center, outdoor swimming pool with cabanas, over 10,000 square feet of meeting space and shuttle service to local attractions. Guests can dine at Portico Global Cuisine, the hotel’s signature restaurant.
